CS201 Data Structures & Algorithms is the second-year core course of the BSc Computer Science, taught by Dr. Priya Sharma. It covers lists, trees, hash tables, graphs, sorting and searching, and asymptotic analysis, with weekly implementation labs.
The course runs in Fall 2026 and is worth 10 credits. It meets Tue & Thu 09:00–10:30, Hargrove Hall 204. Assessment is by coursework and a written exam in the December exam week.
What you will learn
- Choose the right data structure for a problem
- Implement lists, trees, hash tables and graphs
- Analyse running time with big-O notation
- Benchmark and optimise real implementations
