The Northlight Incubator, home of BU320 Entrepreneurship, has launched its 60th student venture: a logistics analytics startup founded by two MBA students and mentored by Dr. Sofia Rossi.
The venture, which analyses port congestion data to reroute regional freight, began as a class project in BU430 Global Supply Chains before joining the incubator’s spring cohort. It has since won a place in a national accelerator programme.
“Sixty ventures in eleven years means roughly one new company for every incubator cohort we have run,” said Dr. Rossi. “Most don’t become unicorns — that is not the point. The point is that every team learns what it costs to turn an idea into something a customer will pay for.”
Applications for the next incubator cohort open in January and are open to students of all departments.
